Paz Vega was born in Triana in Sevilla, a place which gave birth to many talented artists. It has to be said that Paz Vega's penchant for acting comes from her lineage. Her father is a professional bull fighter and her sister is a flamenco dancer. Vega's earlier ambitions were to become a Sport star, but then changed to become a Journalist. But after watching La Casa de Bernarda Alba, Paz Vega made up her mind of what she really wants.
Paz Campos Trigo, popularly known as Paz Vega was born on January 2nd 1976 in Seville. The name Paz Vega was taken after her GrandMother for her stage career. After attending a performance of Federico Garcia Lorca's La casa de Bernarda Alba at the age of 15 she was convinced that she wanted to become an actress. After completing her schooling she joined the Centro Andaluz de Teatro stage school to learn more about what has become more than a passion for her - Acting. She studied journalism after completing the course at drama school.
Vega made her television debut in the Spanish TV series, Menudo es mi padre. After
In 2001 Spanish director and writer Julio Medem cast her as Lucia in 'Sex and Lucia'. The film was pretty provocative with Paz Vega herself featuring in explicit sexual scenes. But in terms of recognition this film did wonders to Vega. Paz Vega won the Best Break through Performance of the Year in the Spanish 'Premios Goya' Award ceremony. Premios Goya is Spanish equivalent to American Oscars. She also won the best Breakthrough Performance award in that year Cannes Festival. Other noteworthy films of her are - Talk To Her, Solo Mia and El otro lado de la cama, a romantic sex comedy.
