MSN.exe and spoolsv.exe: some details

There are a lot of online sources that claim to offer unique and comprehensive database of .exe files and other processes, but surprisingly enough, we often get least information about some exe.files like MSN.exe and spools.exe. Let’s talk about these two processes.

MSN.exe

MSN.exe is known as an active component of the spyware worm (Rbot PJ). There are chances to be infected with the Rbot PJ spyware if you first log on and this process runs on your PC. The Rbot PJ worm spreads through network connection with not enough security and it can possibly deliver a damaging payload.

There are many different variants of spyware in Rbot PJ and its removal is considered quite necessary to protect the integrity of your computer system as it can be quite damaging as a downloader, a backdoor, a keylogger and spyware. If you do not remove it, it may steal your personal information and make software unable to identify and remove this and other threats.

At first, it tries to shut antivirus and security applications down and this move leads security software to avoid identifying and subsequently removing the application and other related processes and files. Serving as a backdoor, it allows hackers and third parties to access your personal information. It can also steal information including passwords and software keys. By using an existing Internet connection, it can record keystrokes and download further code from the Internet.

If your system is infected with this spyware, security applications and antivirus are unable to run. In some cases, unexplained entry to your computer, software and website registrations and even accounts are also evident.

You need to manually scan your system with antispyware software or antivirus and you can take action with the file.exe process and other components of the Rbot PJ Worm. You have the legitimate process related to MSN.com

spoolsv.exe

This .exe file is described as the spooler SubSystem App or Windows Print Spooler Service and it is quite well known as the main component of the printing interfaces. It starts when the computer is started and run the background until turned off.

The spoolsv.exe file or the Print Spooler service is launched when a printer in use and this process can be viewed in Windows Task Manager. You can also close the spoolsv.exe process through the Task Manger if you are not using a printer.
