Another way to fight boredom at the office is to have some sort of distraction ready at hand whenever you feel lethargic all of a sudden. It could be a selection of your feel-good music selection on your PC’s MP3 player, a framed photo of your beautifully smiling family sitting on top of your table, or even a book of jokes that can easily take the blues out of an ordinary day. Music has always been proven to have soothing effects, while photos of loved ones always evoke warm memories that instantly lift a surly mood. Well, the book of jokes may not be ideal for everyone, as laughing out loud inside office premises is not encouraged during crucial office hours, but it could be the perfect antidote to a gloomy and monotonous day. Whoever said that laughter is the best medicine couldn’t be any nearer to the truth.

There are also simpler ways to combat work related lethargy. Always take advantage of snack times and lunchtimes. Talk with a colleague on things that interest you. Leave your desk once in a while and make a steaming cup of delicious coffee. You will notice that you are already feeling better when you sit down again to work. There are easy ways to fight boredom at work, and it literally doesn’t take a genius to figure them out.
