The best "place" to blog

SO everybody, do you prefer to blog on a host that is popular? Or do you prefer to blog on your own website?

Do you use wordpress or something else? Do you do it all from just HTML?

Do you advertise your personal blog a lot or do you use it for just friends and family?

I am just interested in seeing what everybody has for answers.

I prefer to blog in my website. Before i used blogdrive.com to blog, but for problems... i left that website xD

Actually my blog is in .php format (just the extension). I don't use wordpress, instead of that i'd like to use cutenews script

I prefer WordPress. In my opinion, it is the best blogging platform ever. With all the freely available plug-ins, it is endlessly extendable. Plus, I love all the free themes available. I still haven't found the best look for my blog, but I'm bound to find it with all the options. Plus, I just love the fact that it is open source. I'm an Open Source junkie.

I can said i only prefer with blogger and blogdrive because i can put any ads in my blog. Its good and i really better than wordpress. Just hope i can do something better with my blog everyday.

Most likely I like to have it with me with my own host and I have. Purpose of blog is to express ourselves to this world along with friends so I shall like to share it with all the internet world. Definitely WordPress will be my first choice and that's it.
