Changes for The Authority Directory

As many of you have links within the Authority Directory I thought it important to keep you informed of a couple changes.

I constantly look to improve the site as a resource, so we have listened to requests and added new features.

New to the directory are
Deep Links
Site of the Day - Your site can be listed on the front page.
Affiliate Mod - link in footer - sign up to earn affiliate sales.

and a couple more - not so noticable.

Anyone who already has a featured link, I will add the deep links for you. If you PM me the url and link text for each deep link. If you send the pm, just give me a couple days to add them.

A couple things worth noting.
Traffic averages 600 unique visitors per day
comes up between 23 and 25 in G for the term web directory
Back link counts I get when I sign into webmaster tools on G are 17777, but it has not updated in a while and Yahoo is much higher.
My Yahoo site explorer account moves between 65k and 75k backlinks trending upward.
iwebtool predicts 6 on the next update, but we know that these are not completely accurate.
There are almost no empty categories - having no empty categories is a priority now and any empty ones will be filled shortly.
We are adding content daily.
I went through link rankings on several sites the other day and noticed in most cases the link from the directory comes up right on the first page with the site itself. In many cases the number two position like this one. The search terms I used were the domains, for example authoritydirectory.com or xxxxxx.com.

I am still looking into adding additional features.

Your Directory is the one which i admire a lot... I like the design and everything in the way it functions... I also have a Featured link in ur Directory of ShareNGain Web Directory and u also have the same in my directory & Thanks for the Site of the day listing

Can i suggest regular listing in this category Authority Directory- Directories ?? And any chance to get site wide link there?

Thank you iGuides! I really appreciate your comments and questions.

I took the approach of having a well designed directory, that is clean of much of the clutter on many directories now days. Which will help it be a better, more quality resource to visitors.

To that end you will not see sponsored/featured sitewide links on the site other than the 5 most recent featured listings that appear on the right which rotate out as new sites are accepted. The search engines also seem to be devaluing sitewide links anyway. I will also never have adsense on the site.

Clients looking for additional traffic can opt to use the site of the day spot on the front page to get additional traffic exposure. One of the iGuides moderators sites is in that position today and everyone who sees this should visit his site.

Only featured listings are allowed in upper level categories and the sites listed there are feeling the benefits as can be seen with the example in the original post.

I am looking for submissions from quality sites such as iGuides, which would be a welcome addition to the directory.
