World's cheapest car

Ratan Tata drove in the Nano, the much awaited Rs.100,000 ($2,500) ‘people’s car’, into the podium in Tata Motor’s pavilion at the Auto Expo 2008 in New Delhi, heralding the launch of the world’s cheapest car.

India’s top vehicle makers say it will roll out the new vehicle later this year. This is really a great achievement in transportation sector.

That's very economical, it will give an opportunity to the common citizen who can get it easily for such a low cost.

But, at the same time, there will be too much traffic and an increase in pollution.

Nano has a rear-wheel drive, all-aluminium, two-cylinder, 624 cc, 33 bhp, multi-point fuel injection petrol engine.

In this price (1 lakh) its best IMO. I'll book one for me surely.

Beside being successful in business, Tata Family has always tried to contribute and give something good to society, the sole cause behind making this car is known to everyone, I think..

It's indeed a great achievement in Automobile industries, coming days will tell that, how much success Nano is achieving.

But IMO, showroom price of this car or on road price will certainly reach in between 1.30 to 1.40 lacs, even though its not bad.

There are 3 models which are going to be released commercially in another 6 months time.

2 luxury models and one standard model.

The standard model wont have AC, radio, power steering and power brakes.

I would be afraid of ever getting in accident in that car. I don't think anyone in there would have a chance.

Yes, it is created from aluminum, if you go above 80 miles an hour, it might fly or turn over.
