Telemarketing has been facing criticism, it is said they are associated with various scams and frauds such as pyramid schemes. I think telemarketing calls are now often considered an annoyance.

How do you cope up with this?

Very good question.

I will only accept respectable campaigns that abide by all US and international laws. I am approached everyday with at least a dozen offers that sound very interesting, but not may be in my best interest.

In regards to telemarketing calls, it all depends on the person. The best advice that I share is to tell your agents that strangers are friends that you have not met yet. You may get "hung up on" for a living, but, if you play your percentages, you will make sales everyday. If an agent has a bad call or the person hung up on them, I have one word for that...NEXT.

Remember, smile when you dial.

Hi Richard,

These are few nice tips - thank you.

If your target market is USA - I believe almost 80% of the people have their numbers with the National Do Not Call Registry operated by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

The problem that most of the call centres are facing these days are, even if you have a legitimate campaign but because of these fraud campaigns it is impossible to do a sale!

Call centre is good for inbound I would say - inbound campaigns are hard to get though, companies like to outsource to major BPO's like TRG.
