Importance of getting listed in DMOZ.

I read an article saying that by getting listed with DMOZ,a site will easily achieve a good Page Rank of 3-4 soon.Is it really true?Are the inner pages of DMOZ also highly ranked?

Also I saw that it belongs to Netscape.Is that true?Im not sure about these because I read it from an unpopular blog.[Dont remember its url,or else wud have posted it here]

Well, for me, Dmoz is nothing but a crap. (Others may not agree with me)
As far as your question, NO. there is no guarantee that you will get any PR if your site is listen in Dmoz. PR has noting to do with it.

Only benefit that I understand getting listed in DMOZ, will give you an extra back link from Google itself, i.e. from Google Directory

Dmoz links only counts towards the ranking of a site in Google. DMOZ has much trust with Google, and getting listed is worth far more than the greenbar.

Well if you are thinking about getting listed there in a few days or weeks then it is your dream. There are many people who even waiting to be listed since several months. While talking about Google and Dmoz you should have some extra ordinary patience.

Dmoz, Is like you submit your site and just forget after that,If u are lucky then u will get your site listed there after months
