My PR 4 business directory urlstand general business directory which has PR as well in inner pages placed second in first page of google search with the following key phrase: "general business directory"

I don't think it's very competitive keyword as compared to other high traffic keywords like "Web Directory" or "Business Directory" etc...

Anyways, not bad for "General Business Directory" how many hits you are getting from there each day?

I suppose he would get around 10 daily hits or so. The idea is to rank as high as is possible for as many keywords. Also people should forget about the big key terms like web directory, business directory or directory unless they have a huge advertising budget.

I for one, preffers to start with resonable keywords before moving to the best ones.

At the moment I rank
#1 - video web directory
#15 - video directory
#1 - directories traffic
#1 - traffic directories
and also about another 12 key terms where I rank first on second page. All these together bring me about 150 - 200 daily visits which is not bad at all. So if you can get 15 keywords to send you 150 hits a day I think it is much more benefic than spending a considerable amount of time and money shooting for huge keywords like web directory without any guarantees that you will succeed...

I am not sure but i dont think you might be getting good traffic for that Keyword as it is not that popular and searched keyword!

Anyways nice efforts..
