About Wikiseek
The contents of Wikiseek are restricted to Wikipedia pages and only those sites which are referenced within Wikipedia, making it an authoritative source of information less subject to spam and SEO schemes.
Wikiseek utilizes a category refinement technology, providing suggested search refinements based on user tagging and categorization within Wikipedia, making results more relevant than conventional search engines.
Basic Search
To search with Wikiseek, start typing your query into the search box. As you type, Wikiseek will suggest categories related to your query term. Simply click on the category that is most related to your query.
If you do not see a relevant category, clicking "All Results" will display unfiltered results for your query.
Unlike other search engines, Wikiseek does not have a "search" button. Instead, clicking a specific category or clicking "All Results" activates your search.
Search Results
The search results page displays the result of your query as it relates to your category selection. Your search category selection will be displayed at the top of the search results page.
Results with a "W" icon indicate the result is a Wikipedia page. The rest of the pages in your search results are pages referenced by Wikipedia. The first three Wikipedia articles of any Wikiseek query will be promoted to the top of the page.
Refining Your Search
You may refine your current search by selecting a different category from the list on the left. This is useful for discovering additional results related to your query.
Advanced Queries
Wikiseek provides advanced operators to improve your query.
* AND: Abraham AND Lincoln
* OR: Abraham OR Lincoln
* entire phrase: "Four score and seven years ago"
