Unhappy with Orkut Promotion

Hello ,
I used orkut for promotion 2-3 months ago and I had Recieved loads of visitors from it . [Around 200 Per day from promoting it in 5-6 Communities with Average 5,000 members.]

Now , Today I did it again but no response now.
I promoted my site in atleast 8-10 Communities and Just Got 50 Visitors.

Any idea why so?

Because Orkut users are exhausted seeing spam ... Yeah i spelt it right... SPAM.... so they think now every site advertising as SPAM and dont click because of few spammers the genuine traffic lookers are also effected

You stole what I was going to say -

when orkut was launched, their userbase was small - spammers spams in a place filled with people, orkut is huge now and every community is filled with spam topics.

Infact, people create communites for promotion purposes only and scrapbooks are flooded with ads.

Even I don't think about Orkut now because it is almost worthless now to do something with it.

Orkut communities now a days are very strict on link issues and trying to advertise on their communities, they easily find out that you are spamming.
My advise is go with communities outside US, they tend to visit more and try to blend in your message in a way so it looks like you are helping them rather than spamming.

I still using Orkut for promoting my site and I also using myspace for the same. Though I'm getting good numbers of visits from orkut but not as much as from myspace. Myspace is generating more and more visitors for my site than orkut.

Okrut is not the right place for promoting your site, I think so.
