Will this assist my ranking???

Hello,

I have a question, I want to build a website and which might assist Rankings. It will direct traffic to parent website. It will consist of links of every company that sells something that is relevant to what the parent company offers. Will this website assist the parent website listing in SE's? And one more thing, If I change the name of a website is it going to affect parent site any way??
