well i think after going through all these, i have tried by pointing to the url directly. It gives a better view than others to identify the spoof mails. Thank you very much for the kind interaction as it would have been very much useful for many newcomers. i would like to post much more here when i come to know about it.

well i also got a mail recently that i'v won 250,000,000 $ and i dont remember the full email... it said that i must claim it in a week or it will expire :S.
anyway to detect that?

I found this discussion to be very useful for the members. I myself learnt a lot on phishing mails and its identifications. Thank you very much for the info people.

When I am using gmail,I receive a red header giving a warning that "This mail may not be from the person it intends to be" whenever i open spoof mails.havent you all noticed it?

If you follow just 2 below given rule then no worries at all.

1) Never click at any link provided by any email (specially email from any bank,from your any other account or payment processing comapany like paypal,egold,mb,2co etc.)

2) Always go to website by typing fresh url in new browser (always check for https:// in case of secure login site)

All fraud emails give you a link which you need to copy and paste in the browser.I have received emails like this only.Maybe some others have got clickable links....

Best thing is to go to any bank or payment processor site by direct url in a new browser. Never click any link provided by any email for your own safety. Always look for https:// for security.
