Default fraud mails

Is there any technique on how to find certain mails that we receive are bogus are genuine. Most of the banks say that they will never engage in such works. But if any specific methodology is there to detect these bogus mails, then people could be much more secured.

Start out by allowing the status bar in Outlook, then mouseover the links... chances are the link is not what you'd expect.

For instance instead of www.paypal.com you'll see www.paypal.com.xyzabc123.biz
That's one complicated subdomain but it's familiar looking enough to satisfy the less aware user.

Yes, those are spoof E-mails.

Spam e-mails will also have many grammatical errors, for instance the paypal spoof E-mail that I received had these mistakes

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter .

Sincerely,
PayPal Account Departement.

Also - no bank or paypal will address their clients as "Dear Paypal Customer"

If you get these E-mails, report it to spoof@paypal.com.

Best thing is to go to any bank or payment processor site by direct url in a new browser. Never click any link provided by any email for your own safety. Always look for https:// for security.

What I do is look at the URL and make sure they're pointing to the correct domains. I know the email address can seem real (they use a script for this) but the URLs will give them away easily.

I wouldn't open the URLs at all, what you can do is rollover your cursor on the text and look at the bottom of your screen, it'll show you what URL it really leads to.

But if it's obvious that they're phish emails, (from the layout and format of the email) I would just ignore it right away

Using outlook express is a little complicated because are a lot of bugs in it But to avoid hackers & mail scams use a service like yahoo or gmail which divide your mails in bulk folder and inbox
