Cool Best screen size for web site.

Hello!

What would you say is the best screen size of a website. I've just started on a new one, but i know it wont fit on most monitors. Mine is set to 1280 x 960 which makes it hard to judge on smaller resolution. I hate changing it as is messes with my icons .

So, what's a good size to use in this age?

According to Google Analytics , plenty of my sites user have this resolution 1024x768. I think this is an appropriate resolution because if you would plan your site for low resolution then uses with high resolution will see a lot of empty space or part of your background image.

I agree you but not totally because-
-->If you add padding and border with your code then for 1024*768 resolution there will be scroll bar in your browser.
-->If If the resolution of your monitor is below this resolution then there will always be scroll bar which is not user friendly.
-->According to my analysis the best width for website is 777px. And the best resolution is 777px*450px.

If you follow this then you don't need to think about the resolution of the users pc. Because then there will be no scroll bar. As an example you can visit the site which is under constructionPrime Engineers

As I have said almost all user were using the same resolution so probably there will be less chances of distortion of images and bindings. I am damn sure that these are in pixels. I can't understand logic of 755 pixels though.

At times, when screens of monitors were small in size, 800x600 was standard screen resolution, but with the rapid growth and development in the field of computers, large screens are being used, if we analyze averagely, 1024x768 is ideal resolution now a days. Otherwise it would be better if you make liquid design, that can adjust on all screen resolutions.

I am not sure about it too, can you explain what's the logic of using 777px, as 800x600 is 2nd most appropriate screen resolution.
