Default I want crack this problem!!!

For some time I have been using some 'free' css templates and have encountered a problem, I just cannot seem to grasp the problem.

Images are provided and show no problem but if I alter the image to one of my own using the same sizes and type (gif or jpg) and change the name of the image in either/or the style or html file to suit then it will not display when I shoot up the html in IE7. Yet, if I change MY image to the name of the provided image it displays? I have checked file paths, names css files html files with failure and I really need to crack this, as I want to use the same image across several pages.

Any aid would be more than greet and very much valued.

Very weird problem.

Troubleshoot:

1. Make sure that all the paths and filenames are correct. Check the paths with Mozilla web developer addon.

2. Make sure that the mime types and the extension of the image file are similar. If you've changed extension of an image with gif mime type to .jpg. It will error out in IE. (Personal experience)
