Default Does locality matter in seo

I mean to say that if the location of a server plays a vital role anywhere. Say for example if a server is located in UK and if the search produces the listing to 3 or 4th and the same when checked in any other location, it slips or may rank high. What is this problem about?

Its obvious that SEO is huge. But i do not know whether locality matters exactly or not. If different rating are going to done each and every time, then how really it works.

I have noticed that as well, sometimes same keyword give different results for different localities. One of my site is much better in position in Google NZ. If you would search Alexa site you can find different sites on top for different countries. It can effect IMO.

Location of your server influence seo but it is not a vital factor - far from being one...
