Years ago, choosing an Internet Service Provider, or ISP, was easy because there weren’t very many of them. The biggest providers were AOL and Juno. But now it seems like new internet service providers are being made every day. How do you select the provider that is best for you?
The first thing that you should do is to find out what kind of services are available in your area. Unfortunately, for those who live in rural areas, their choices of speed in regards to their Internet are rather limited. Phone lines also affect the kind of Internet that is available. For DSL, or Digital Subscriber Line, your phone wiring must be updated with copper. For those with aluminum wiring, they won’t be able to get DSL. But if you are one of the customers who is stuck out in the middle of nowhere and you think that you can’t get a faster Internet than highspeed, there is a solution for you, but it’s rather expensive. Many satellite companies are offering satellite Internet, but it can run up to one hundred dollars a month.
