US government has criticized the new plans for offering various new web addresses to substitute .com domain names.
The web addresses are supervised by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers that is planning for some new changes in the current naming and address system.
However, the utilization as well as the cost of this plan has been inquired by the US Commerce department.
Similarly, other US official have also shown concerns that these new plans may destabilize the existing website address system.
The US government responded to those two letters that were sent independently by officials who had concerned about the new scheme.

During the last year, there was a 9% increase in the number of people who used mobiles for the Internet access and this year almost 25% UK population access internet via their cellphones, Comscore’s analysis suggests.
Comscore predicts that there will be further growth in the number of mobile internet users and the current trend will keep going.
The most of these mobile internet users are men with 59%, but when it’s about PC internet use these figures appear much starker male to female rates of PC internet use are 52% to 48%.
No doubt, 9% growth looks quite impressive, but PC internet use sees even better growth with 11% increase.

The story issued in today’s edition of Wall Street Journal in regards to yet another Yahoo takeover attempt was incorrect. And unlike the story released by The Times over this weekend, which was almost similarly fabricated (with both publications News Corp.-owned), this one had direct effects on the market.
The story released today has Jonathan Miller, former CEO of AOL, out to pitch private equity fund for raising $28 - $30 billion in an attempt to acquire Yahoo.
Miller, in association with his partner at Velocity Interactive Group, Ross Levinsohn, was also holding the center stage in the weekend story released by The Times.
Sources reveal that while Levinsohn & Miller have been maintaining regular contacts with Microsoft & Yahoo shareholders and executives for months in regards to the future of Yahoo, they haven’t yet made any discussions with private equity funds for raising capital in order to take over the organization.
