NEW YORK – Popular online auction site eBay has recently been introducing changes to help make the site more attractive. However, recent changes have had the opposite effect and frustrated those using the site to sell products.
Changes in the fee structure, search results and feedback system are meant to achieve the objective of getting more buyers to use the site. The compulsion to make these changes was due to a worrying trend showing a slowing in the growth of active users. Recent quarterly figures indicate that the number of active users increased only 1.4 percent to 84.5 million.
In January, eBay altered its fee structure to get sellers to put more items on sale so it could encourage more activity. Commission rates were set higher if the auctioned products were sold for less than $1,000.

Almost every fifth U.S. television viewer is using computer instead of television set to watch primetime programs online. Majority of these people is consisted of educated professional women, a new survey shows.
The survey results indicate that almost 50 percent people viewing TV programs on the Web as they are getting available online. According to Integrated Media Measurement Inc. (IMMI) which conducted that survey, “It seems that soon computer would serve as the biggest substitute for the T.V. set.”
The other 50 percent use the Web to view those programs that they have missed.

The last search engine that Anna Patterson developed in 2004 was so impressive that Google Inc. had to purchase that technology to upgrade its system.
Now she has developed another and believes that her new invention is even better and more valuable than the previous one but this time not for sale.
Patterson quitted Google in 2006 and started to develop a new more comprehensive way to search the Internet.
The results are quite cool as the new search engine will start processing requests from Monday with a $33 million venture capital support.

On Friday, the 3rd Gen iPhone went on sale in the region of Asia-Pacific. After a thirty second countdown with hundreds of chanted people, the new iPhone made its debut in Japan.
In the celebration, at Japanese carrier Softbank Corp. store, a digital clock display over the entrance was also included which was the part of a worldwide rollout in 22 nations of the much-touted 3G iPhone. The new iPhone is a new update version of the model that was introduced last year in the U.S. and many other countries.
The other Asia-Pacific countries that getting the 3rd Gen iPhone are Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. iPhone will be available at 8am in every time zone in the U.S.

According to General Motors high claims, its gun like run Chevrolet Volt will get ready for production by 2010. If this vehicle is produced on time, in noteworthy numbers and succeeds to work reliably well, the Volt will serve as a milestone in motor technology.
God forefend! If it doesn’t do well, General Motors may be accused of “Spoiling the electric car” once more.

On Sunday, NBC Universal announced that they were about to have a buyout deal with Landmark Communications Inc. for their Weather Channel. The announcement ended a lengthy process that tempted interest in many big media businesses.
There are no words about financial terms yet, but someone “issue-familiar” told on anonymous basis that $3.5 billion in cash was the purchase price. The private equity firms Bain Capital LLC. and The Blackstone group also joined NBC in that deal.

A customize version of its Flash Player software has been released by Abode Systems Inc. The new version will allow the Google Inc and others’ search engine to see the Flash content embedded Web pages just like a human could.
Currently, the search browsers which identify and file content for search engines have to face difficulty to locate the non-text formats.
Though these Web browsers often succeed to file still text and links in basic Flash files, many Web pages embedded with Flash video are animatedly developed on the fly as visitors prepare to view them. These days many Web pages are designed almost totally in Flash that has menus and other features fixed within the Flash video.
