Six new HD web channels from Entertainment Studios

Six new HD web channels with full of interesting content have been recently launched by the largest independent producer Entertainment Studios.

With the suffix of .tv that has become the major source of income for the Pacific Island of Tuvalu, the six  HD TV and web channels include Cars.TV, Comedy.TV, Pets.TV, ES.TV, Recipe.TV and Comedy.TV.

Google’s new ‘Gaudi’ audio search service

You may get fed up using words for your internet searches, you may or may not but Google is as it has announced a new audio search service named “Gaudi”.

The new service has been trialed for two months on iGoogle and now its running for video provided to YouTube’s political channel.

Gaudi would use video content on the web straight from Google Labs and apply speech recognition when you mutter your search term.

No more .coms, ICANN opens up voting for new domain names

To start the internet naming scheme for further choices, ICANN will kick off voting later this week.

ICANN is a none-profit organization that is attributed to control the Internet’s naming scheme. At its meeting in Paris on Thursday, ICANN will vote on an offer that lets companies to buy new top-level domains that can end at almost anything they choose. Now instead of getting restricted to last letters of their web sites like .com, .co.uk or .org, the companies will get an opportunity to have their company name at the end of their URL. Now soon you would find sites like .intel or .ebay instead of .com similarly, different cities will get the opportunity to name their Web sites like .newyork etc.

Facebook’s profile redesign: let see what comes

For a quite long time there was nothing but unclear screenshots but at last Facebook decided to tell about its coming site redesign on Wednesday. According a company representative the redesign will make it more comfortable for members to have instant and active updates from their friends on the network and it will also decrease some of the profile disorder allocating user information with a set of tabs instead of all of it on one page.

The Cuban government lifts ban from home computers on Friday. This is one of the various bans lifted recently by Cuban President Raul Castro. This ban lifting created an atmosphere of joy amongst the people and large crowds gathered outside computer shops and electronics stores. Most of the people came to see the computers and enjoy the joyful sight, while a few were there as customers.

Computers are a high priced commodity in Cuba. A tower style QTECH PC and monitor costs around $780 to $800. In a country where average daily wages fall below $20 (10 pounds) a month, computer becomes a thing that can be bought by only a few people.
