The company has decided to fetch its search talents into new areas, devices and adding some new kinds of Media in search outcomes, it was revealed at the Google I/O conference.
The details about Google’s search development in applications like cross-language recovery and book-searching were provided by a company official on Thursday who also expected further personalization for search options.
Marissa Mayer, Google vice president for search products and user experience told in an important presentation at the Google I/O conference that in devices like phones and cars the search would be expanded and new media types will also be included in search results.
“Now you will be able to watch videos, graphs, images as a complete answer of some query”, she stated.
Through personalization it will be possible to know where the users are and what they have queried before.
Mayer also listed names of different Google developments like Google translate; a service in beta stage which can offer translation across languages. We can find the answer if it exists in any language, Mayer told.
Google is also looking for book searching with its Google Book Search development that is also in beta stage. While earlier this month Microsoft took a decision to shut down its scanning and book-searching operations.
Mayer also mentioned Google Health which has been designed to provide an opportunity to users to control their personal medical records. Further, there is a ride finder application that gives information about ride services in some area by receiving GPS signals off of taxis and ferries.
Similarly, there is Goog-411 that is a free service for phone-based searching for regional businesses. Services like speech to text technology and voice recognition will be used that would also provide basis for other technologies like video-searching.
“Though Google has put enough efforts yet the company identifies that are always some issues with search and for such issues it is hard to find a right solution.” Mayer further adds.
She also hyped about Google’s devices software that allows customizations of web pages. Now developers can access a wider range of users with devices. Billions of gadgets are being created by thousands of developers.
