Private browsing will be available in Firefox 3.1

According to a report from the Register and Computerworld, there will be private browsing features (available in Internet Explorer 8, Google’s Chrome and Apple’s Safari) in the coming version of Firefox.

A beta release of Firefox 3.1 is expected during the next month and it will reject cookies got in the private session. It doesn’t record sites visited disable, automatically remove downloads with Firefox’s download manager and auto-filling of passwords.

It Mozilla’s plan to present a private mode for quite some time, but now after the positive reaction to IE8’s InPrivate modes and Chrome’s Incognito positive reaction ,now the things are quite faster from Mozliia.

Mike Connor, who is Firefox lead developer, says: “we will surely do it into 3.1 using one or the other way.”

Google Chrome looks nice with its neat and clean appearance and so far Google’s decision to show the browser tabs to the top of windows is concerned, it’s not odd at all as we are quite use to them under the very name of address window in IE and Firefox. However, you have to push mouse cursor a little higher to close the tab and that’s why the insufficiency of mouse gestures is somewhat frustrating.

Firefox 3 Web browser is available as free download

NEW YORK –On Tuesday, Firefox Web browser’s new version became available as a free download.

The release had to delay as visitors overloaded Firefox’s Web server to check for the update. According to AlertSite which is an Internet performance observing company, the site was almost unreachable for almost two hours that started about 12:45 pm Eastern time which was 15 minutes earlier than the told release time. AlertSite further told that the performance was better later in the day.

Launch parties were organized by Firefox supporters around the world as they tried to make a new world record of most software downloads during the period of 24-hour.
This is a new category and Guinness World Records must take a week or longer to certify it.

Mozilla Firefox 3 Beta 2 Released with Improved security Features

Mozilla’s new “Firefox 3 Beta 2 “was released recently. The new beta software includes various interesting features like improved protection from cross-site JSON data leaks, tighter restrictions on cookies, clearer Web site identification by clicking on the site favicon in the location bar, better malware protection, stricter SSL error pages, anti-virus integration in the download manager, and version checking for insecure plugins.

If you visit a malicious site using Firefox 3, it will block the site and do it with a user interface that doesn’t allow a click-through,” said Window Snyder of Mozilla Corporation.

Firefox gets an updated list of malware sites from Google every 30 minutes, and that the final release may allow or include other blacklist providers.
