Latest mobile browser update from Opera

Opera has just released Opera Mini 4.2, the latest update to its mobile internet browser.

With improved YouTube and a wider range of mobile phones support, the new Opera beta offers a more personalised mobile web experience.

A beefed up Opera Link that allows you to share notes and bookmarks between your mobile and your Pc are some other improvements that have been included.

“Opera’s CEO, Jon von Tetzchner, the CEO of Opera says that: “A true revolution is really going on and it can be easily observed from the number of people who are using Opera Mini worldwide. People want to visit websites with their devices they have today.”

Hi-tech helping families stay in touch

According to the Pew Internet report, people are coming closer, as mobile phones and internet are helping them to maintain social ties.

A survey of 2,252 Americans shows that one of the keenest users of technology are families.

The survey noted that the use of Internet was often a social activity in families, as 51% parents told that they got online with their children.

Tracy Kennedy, who helped to write the Networked Families report, says: “Some analysts believe that new technologies are hurting family togetherness, but we have found in our survey that there is a new kind of connectedness among families because of cell phones and internet.”

In their survey the researchers examined the differences between families (with children and single adults) in technology use.

The researchers found that so-called ‘nuclear’ families had considerably increased hi-tech gadgetry in their homes than the other measured group.

Mobile Carriers to Offer Unlimited Call Plans

Great news for people who can’t get enough of talking on their mobile phones, top cellular phone companies are about to give you a treat you cannot possibly miss.

Three of the largest cellular phone carriers are ready to offer unlimited domestic call plans for a flat rate of $100 per month. This move raises the potential for price war. Furthermore, it increases the chances for customers to finally gain full understanding of their monthly mobile phone statements.

The three major cell phone carriers which decided to go for this move are Verizon Wireless, AT&T and T-Mobile USA. Unlimited SMS or text messaging is included in the package.

Garmin Launched Its First GPS Mobile Phone Device

Top GPS maker, ‘Garmin’ has now successfully knocked the doors of the mobile phone markets. “Garmin’ has introduced its first ever mobile phone, the “Nuvifone” that comes with a unique ‘hybrid-device’.

Apple’s “iPhone” started a new era in the mobile phone realm that compelled all related manufacturing companies to come up with advanced features devices and applications. Subsequently Google also announced that it will be introducing its technologically compatible mobile phone software development platform. Many more companies are now bringing advance features and adding more applications to their mobile phone devices.

This week’s unveiling of the Garmin’s “Nuvifone” will also beginning the combination of a mobile phone with a web browser and the GPS. The general appearance of this device is parallel to the “iPhone”. It comes with a slim form factor, 3.5 –inch touch screen, and the on-screen keypad.
